Where Tomball is, and what it's like
Tomball sits where several of Northwest Houston's main roads meet: SH-249 (the Tomball Parkway and Tollway), the Grand Parkway (SH-99) and FM 2920. Tomball ISD covers about 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, roughly 30 miles from downtown Houston. It takes in the city of Tomball and reaches east toward Northpointe, northeast into The Woodlands' Village of Creekside Park, and south into the northern part of the 77429 and 77433 ZIP codes.
Historic downtown Tomball has Main Street and Market Street shops, antique stores, cafés and live music. The 1907 Tomball Depot museum offers free Saturday tours, and the Tomball Farmers Market runs every Saturday year-round in Old Town. Around it you'll find older in-town homes, established 1990s–2000s subdivisions, and new construction in master-planned communities.
